The Master’s Degree in Gender Studies is offered in an in-person format with 36 credits and is designed to be completed in 3 semesters*.
*Duration of 3 semesters, provided that the full number of credits is enrolled in each semester.**
**Students may choose as many credits as they consider appropriate based on their available time and budget, with a minimum of 4 credits.
Students in this master’s program may choose, for their degree requirement, to write an academic article, a public policy paper, or complete a consulting or social innovation project.

This course provides tools for integrating a gender perspective into the initiatives and strategies of government entities, companies, and nongovernmental organizations, from a perspective encompassing various disciplines.

Feminist theories and social change
Feminist theories and social change (4 credits), in-person format:
In this course, we will explore various theoretical perspectives, their contributions to gender studies, and their impact on understanding and transforming society. We will analyze how these perspectives address topics such as the economy, development, politics, violence, peace, and knowledge production. We will also examine their contributions to key concepts such as equality, equity, and justice, as well as strategies for social change.

Introduction to interdisciplinary studies
Introduction to Interdisciplinary Studies (2 credits), hybrid format.
The course aims to create a collaborative learning space to acquire the fundamental elements for understanding and taking action through interdisciplinary approaches in the fields of study that are the focus of CIDER’s mission. This is achieved through the use of interdisciplinary logic in theoretical development, the understanding of social phenomena, social action, or public policy decision-making. This entails a robust theoretical discussion on interdisciplinary practice and extensive application to the areas of study that are of interest to the students.

Introduction to research methods
Introduction to research methods (2 credits), hybrid format.
This methodological foundations course seeks to introduce the questions of how and why research is conducted, using elements from different disciplines, paradigms, trajectories, and perspectives of interdisciplinary research.

Gender and interdisciplinarity
Gender and interdisciplinarity (4 credits), in-person format.
This course gives students the opportunity to explore various disciplinary approaches (law, arts and humanities, social sciences, design, and administration) to the concept of gender. It also enables them to analyze a variety of contemporary issues from a gender perspective.

Courses that provide competencies in the thematic or methodological area of social innovation, according to the offerings provided by the program.

Data Analysis (4 credits), hybrid modality.
This course provides theoretical and practical tools for data analysis. We will explore and understand the quantitative methods and tools widely used in development studies over the past two decades. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to apply these methods both in their research or consulting projects and in their professional work.
