In 2021, USAID will transfer to the Interdisciplinary Center for Development Studies (CIDER for its initials in Spanish) at Universidad de los Andes the Workforce Gender Equality Accelerated Course, which has been designed by Tetra Tech as part of USAID Engendering Utilities program.
A group of alumni and professors from Universidad de los Andes will participate in the Training of Trainers (ToT) program which is imparted by international experts from the Engendering Utilities program, John Hopkins University, and from the Men Engage Alliance.
During the ToT, the group from Uniandes will be joined by participants from universities in Hungary, Kenya, Nigeria and Vietnam being a great opportunity to share knowledge and experiences around gender issues in the workplace.
After the ToT program, Uniandes will co-facilitate a first Colombian edition of the course with USAID experts during 2021, and in partnership with Ministerio de Minas y Energia (Colombia). Then, in 2022, the course will be part of the Cider´s continuing education portfolio under the strategic line of “Gender, equality and development.”
This partnership with USAID Engendering Utilities program, implemented by Tetra Tech, will boost Cider´s work with diverse organizations on gender issues in the workplace and will open new opportunities for Uniandes’ Masters Degree in Gender.
**Engendering Utilities Program is a United States cooperation program that has been implemented in 21 countries, and growing, since 2015 to strengthen and implement strategic actions for women’s empowerment and gender equality in traditionally male-dominated industries.
